The organ

The Organ

Picture
The organ was built in 1989 following the disastrous fire which destroyed the then ailing instrument.   The 1989 instrument is a very fine small 2-manual by Mander Organs, and was dedicated by Dr Graham Leonard, Bishop of London, on 20 September 1989.

The organ looks and sounds beautiful, and was carefully designed to fit the building by the consultant (Michael Gillingham) and Mander.

It is regularly used by teachers, recitalists, visiting organ societies, as well, of course, in addition to its main job of leading the worship at St Matthew's.

Anyone wishing to see the organ or to inquire about using it should contact the organist, Andrew Sampson, here.

Technical specifications of the organ can be found on the manufacturer's website.
