Born and brought up on the Suffolk/Essex border, I completed BA and MPhil degrees in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at the University of Cambridge. My MPhil thesis was on the theme of revelation in Bede’s biblical commentaries. Having been involved in the ministry of Selwyn College Chapel as a student, I got confirmed at university through that college, and first felt the call to ordination at that time. I spent a year working, first in a museum and then in a solicitors’ office, and this year I have been helping at Little St Mary’s Church in Cambridge. I am currently going through the discernment process with the Diocese of Ely, and am extremely excited to be coming to St Matthew’s to learn more about parish ministry and get to know this wonderful, vibrant part of London and its people.
