Solemn Mass, Wednesday 10th May, 6.30pm
The Great Fire of Westminster

Forty years ago on 10th May 1977, the church was almost totally destroyed by fire, caused by arson. It was subsequently rebuilt on a smaller scale to a design by the aptly named Donald Buttress, and dedicated in 1984. To mark the anniversary we are having a Solemn Mass with special music. We do hope you can join us for this historic occasion.
  • Preacher: Fr Jim Rosenthal, former churchwarden.
  • Exhibition of photographs and other material from the time of the fire.
  • You are invited to wear something red!
  • After the service there will be a reception to which all are invited.

Ascension Day, Thursday 25th May, 12.30pm
Ascension Day

There will be a Sung Mass at 12.30pm at St Matthew's.

Healing in St Matthew's Gospel
Marylebone Healing Centre

This year in the liturgical calendar is the Year of St Matthew, and churches are having a number of events to focus on the Evangelist.  The next such event will take place in the Marylebone  Health Centre, 1pm - 2pm, when Fr Andrew Walker will be leading us through healing in St Matthew's Gospel.  This is a really wonderful opportunity to engage with the gospel – all are welcome, and there is no charge.

Wednesday 17th May, 7pm
Mark's Gospel Live
St John's Church, Kensal Green

Experience the entire Gospel of Mark. This is not a reading or a talk but a dramatic proclamation of an ancient story of God's healing love. Performed by priest and actor Joseph Morris. The evening is free, with a retiring collection.

Friday 26th May, 4pm
Parable and Paradox
Southwark Cathedral

This is the launch event for an exhibition of poems by Malcolm Guite and paintings by Adam Boulter in the Refectory at Southwark Cathedral. There will be a talk with the poet and artist. The exhibition will run from 26th May to 9th June.
